The Oscars were able to surprise even me. As a life long watcher of all things Academy Awards I expected "Lincoln" to basically make a clean sweep. It did win the Oscar it deserved which was for Daniel Day-Lewis' amazing performance as Abraham Lincoln. Ang Lee won best Director over Mr. Spielberg, a surprise. "Argo" took the top award, another surprise, and Ben Affleck gave an amazingly heartfelt speech.

24 Frames Reviews: Top Gun IMAX 3D

“Top Gun” is making a 5 day tour on IMAX 3D before it is released on blu ray next Tuesday. I didn’t hesitate to go, “Top Gun” has been seen by virtually everyone and 12 year old Paul was a huge fan too! I was 4 when it was released in theaters but I wore out the VHS and the Nintendo game(which was overly difficult). I don’t need to review the film for you, if you haven’t seen it you need too if only for the volleyball scene. The following are my thoughts on how the film has held up, and the goodness of seeing it in the IMAX format.

Paul sits down with two authors to talk about the effect Spiderman has had on pop culture. We go to Austin and meet an up and coming band looking to make it big. Finally we sit down with two of the toughest movie critics around.

A football game could be defined as 22 guys beating the hell out of each other for 60 minutes. It’s rough, inelegant, and full of foul language that no man would share in the presence of the opposite sex. It’s a game that grown men play, while other grown men and women watch and cheer, gamble, and drink copious amounts of alcohol hoping their team comes out on top. On its surface football seems barbaric, a modern gladiator arena where meatheads take their medicine and dish it out too. One man was able to look at football though and see something more, a story worth telling.
