Keith Kohanek

Features Producer/Reporter

Keith Kohanek joined Texas Tech Public Broadcasting in March 2011. He produces and hosts Keeping It Local and Locally Owned along with reporting in the field for Inside Texas Tech.

After graduating from Shallowater High School, Keith attended South Plains College before earning his Bachelor's Degree in Journalism at Texas Tech University. While studying at Tech, Keith interned for KCBD-TV's DayBreak Today, was a broadcast reporter for The Daily Toreador, served as production assistant for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition during the Brown Family episode, and worked as community engagement intern at WHRO-TV, the PBS/NPR affiliate in Hampton Roads, Virginia.

For his "second job," Keith volunteers with Literacy Lubbock teaching English as a Second Language to some of the funniest and nicest people the South Plains has to offer. Keith loves music and if there is a local band or artist playing in town on his night off, you can find him in the audience.
