At Ohio's annual Ferret Buckeye Bash, the largest and most popular ferret show in the country, ferret enthusiasts such as Pam VanOverloop parade their pets in a quest for prizes and prestige.

In Lords of the Gourd: In Pursuit of Excellence,  PBS joins Gardeners preparing for a pumpkin weigh-off at a festival in Cooperstown, N.Y., in a film that follows competitors Joe Pukos, Bernie Potter, Matt Vernschneiderm and Deb and Randy Sundstrom as they harvest their entries.

Airs Friday, at 8pm on Channel 5.

Ferrets: In Pursuit of Excellence,  highlights of the annual Ferret Buckeye Bash in Columbus, Ohio, as breeders and owners vie for prizes and bragging rights. The playful critters are judged on various traits, including temperament, bone structure and muscle mass. Directed by Mark Lewis.
